Use Laptop with portable monitorUpdated 8 days ago
Nowadays, many laptops come with USB-C ports that can handle video and audio output, making it easy to connect directly to a portable monitor. But to know if your laptop is truly compatible, you’ll need to check what kind of USB-C port it actually has.
Besides USB-C, are there other ways to connect? And what else might affect whether your laptop works well with a portable monitor?
Check Laptop Port Compatibility
About USB-C Ports
To connect a portable monitor using a USB-C cable, ensure your laptop meets the following one of the interface conditions:
- Thunderbolt 3 & 4
- USB4
- Full Feature USB-C (USB 3.0+DisplayPort 1.4 + Power Delivery)
Some laptops may only use USB-C for charging (PD) without video output, so verify compatibility via your device’s manual or official sources (e.g., www.epey.com, a Turkish reference site). A quicker way is to check the table below to see if your laptop has Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB4.

HDMI Connection
You can check if your laptop has an HDMI port. When using HDMI cable, the portable monitor will need a separate power source.
Since HDMI doesn't carry touch signals, if you've purchased a touchscreen portable monitor, you'll also need to connect it with a USB-A to USB-C cable to enable touch functionality. Of course, UPERFECT includes all the necessary cables, so no need to worry.
