How to Connect a Touchscreen Monitor?
Use Full-Featured USB-C Cable (and Charger)
Laptops/Smartphones with Full-Featured USB-C ports can be connected to the monitor with a USB-C to USB-C cable for touching.
When connecting some devices to a monitor with a USB-C to USB-C cable, just having the cable isn't always enough. You also need to power the monitor, or you might end up with a black screen because of insufficient current.
Use the HDMI Cable, the USB-A to USB-C Cable and the Charger
To ensure a successful connection between your laptop and the monitor, and to enable the touch function, follow these simple steps.
- Start with the HDMI cable.
- Next, connect the USB-A to USB-C cable. Plug the USB-A end into your laptop and the USB-C end into your monitor.
- Lastly, plug in the power cable to monitor.
Which Common Devices Are Compatible with Monitor Touchscreens?
Phones with Full-Featured USB-C
Phones with Full-Featured USB-C that support DisplayPort Alt Mode can connect to a touchscreen monitor. If you want to ensure whether your phone supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, you can check it out in this article.
Laptop with Full-Featured USB-C
Laptop with Thunderbolt 3/4 or supports Full-Featured USB-C can connect thetouchscreen monitors. However, due to differences in operating systems, some laptops may connect to a touchscreen monitor but not support touchscreen functionality, like macOS. We’ve compiled a list of UPERFECT touchscreen monitors compatible with common laptop operating systems.
Windows
Any Windows laptop that supports Full-Featured USB-C can connect directly to a monitor using a USB-C to USB-C cable and will support touchscreen functionality,

- Razer
If you can't use touchscreen, you can adjust a few settings in the menu when you connect.
- Press the Windows key + P to choose Extend mode.
- Then, type "Control Panel" in the search bar to find it.
- Once you're in, set the view mode to "Category" and select "Large icons."
- Next, look for Tablet settings, click on that, and then go to Settings, where you can find Touch input.
If you can't find Tablet settings, just press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Then type in: shell:::{80F3F1D5-FECA-45F3-BC32-752C152E456E}. After that, click on Settings and select Touch input.
macOS
Here are the Apple laptops that support Full-Featured USB-C:
- MacBook 2015
- MacBook Pro 2016 and newer
- MacBook Air 2018 and newer
If your laptop is running macOS Mojave 10.14 or earlier, you don’t need to worry about touchscreen functionality. However, if your laptop is on a version after that, the following basic products do support touch features.
Computers with HDMI Ports
Most computers running Windows or macOS that have an HDMI port can connect to the UPERFECT touchscreen monitor using a USB-A to USB-C cable and power.
For Windows computers, if you can't use the touchscreen, you can set up the touch input.
Apple desktop computers (MacBook Air / MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini / Mac Pro) can connect to a touchscreen monitor using either HDMI + USB-A to USB-C + charging, or directly via USB-C (+ charging). All UPERFECT touchscreen monitors are compatible with macOS Mojave 10.14 and earlier. For compatibility with newer versions, please refer to the examples above.
What Devices Do Not Support Touchscreens?
Linux and Chrome OS Are Not Compatible
While laptops running Linux and Chrome OS can connect to and use our standard monitors, they don't support touchscreens because of compatibility issues.
Game Consoles Are Not Compatible
Because of compatibility issues with the gaming consoles, none of them support the touchscreen functionality of touchscreen monitors.
Can All UPERFECT Touchscreen Monitors Be Used with a Stylus?
No, not all UPERFECT touchscreen monitors can be used with a stylus. Most models do not support stylus input, except for specific models like the UStation Delta Pro Touch.
